Rob Cerbone
Product, Marketing & Operating Executive in Telecom and Connectivity
Senior executive and founder of Cerbone & Co., available for executive, board, and advisory roles
Executive Biography
Rob Cerbone is a seasoned product, marketing, and P&L leader who helps telecom, wireless, and technology companies translate complex connectivity into profitable, scalable businesses. Over more than 20 years of leadership experience, he has held VP and GM roles with responsibility for hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue, leading teams that design, launch, and grow private LTE/5G, Wi‑Fi, and managed connectivity services for enterprise and carrier customers.
Rob currently serves as Vice President of Product Management & Marketing at Communication Technology Services (CTS), a B2B provider of in‑building wireless, private cellular, and managed connectivity solutions. At CTS, he built the product management function and expanded into company‑wide marketing and growth leadership, effectively serving as de facto CMO. He helped transform CTS from a project‑based DAS systems integrator into a managed connectivity and Network‑as‑a‑Service provider focused on private LTE/5G, neutral host, and mission‑critical enterprise connectivity, launching new offers and digital demand programs that 7x’d new‑site traffic and 10x’d marketing‑sourced leads.
Previously, Rob was Vice President and General Manager of the global Media business at Intelsat, where he owned strategy, P&L, product roadmap, and commercial execution for a roughly $900M segment serving leading programmers, broadcasters, and DTH platforms. He led a ~60‑person team, launched hybrid satellite/IP and service‑centric media offerings, and preserved several billion dollars in contracted backlog during OTT‑driven disruption.
Earlier in his career, Rob served as Vice President and General Manager, Wireless at Time Warner Cable (now part of Charter), where he led strategy, product management, and operations for Home WiFi, Public WiFi (TWCWiFi/CableWiFi), SMB/venue WiFi, and mobile services, managing a team of ~30 and an annual budget of $75M capex and $12M opex. Rob and his team built one of the largest cable Wi‑Fi networks in the U.S., scaling TWCWiFi from roughly 100K to 400K+ hotspots and extending reach to about 500K locations through roaming partnerships, while driving 235% CAGR in hotspot locations and 281% CAGR in Wi‑Fi users between 2011 and 2015. He pioneered the “WiFi is our network” and Hotspot 2.0 strategy, launched one of the first commercial Passpoint roaming services, and led the launch of TWC Mobile Broadband and handset‑based MVNO services in partnership with Verizon.
Rob’s earlier roles include senior product and mobile leadership positions at Charter Communications and Sprint/Nextel, as well as early‑stage investment and advisory roles with TDF Ventures, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Arthur Andersen. Across these roles, he has consistently operated at the intersection of product strategy, go‑to‑market execution, and operating discipline.
